The above section talks about how to create ordinary menu items, but the Ella theme is primarily a one page theme, therefore the main menu usually contains section titles. These titles when clicked would scroll the page to the section corresponding to the clicked menu item.
This type of item, which clicked by the user, will automatically scroll the page and stop at the section corresponding to the clicked menu item. The following is how you create one of these.
Once you have created your One Page Layout using the page builder it should be visible in the "Pages" box in the edit menu area.
Select this page and click "Add to menu". It should not appear in the menu area.
Expand this menu item which has just appeared and you will see a field entitled: "Section".
This field corresponds with the "Link" field found in the "Section" block in the page builder.
Every section inserted into the page builder can be given a unique link name. This link name of the section you want this menu item to scroll to when clicked, should be inserted into this field.
Next rename the menu item's Navigation Label to something corresponding to the section it will be scrolling to and save the menu.
Now when this menu item is clicked, the page will scroll to section with the label you entered into the "Section" field.
Now for other sections, you just repeat the sequence, again adding the builder page item to the menu and renaming it and including a section link name.
Scrolling links will only work if the current page which you are viewing contains the section corresponding to the menu item. If not, then a page reload will occur and the page may snap to that section once the new page is loaded, without any scrolling being noticed.
